Glimpse
RAL is a registered, not for profit organisation formed in Logan in 2013
in response to a pressing need to help vulnerable and desperate
Refugees and Asylum Seekers living in the Logan area.
These people who numbered about 800 were in need of furniture, bedding and warm clothing, bicycles for transport, needs for babies such as prams, strollers, car seats, clothing and food needs.
RAL sources these needs through various avenues and supplies it to the people. It takes great effort and manpower to manage this operation. We also hold English classes and maintain secretarial service to help with form filling, translation and resume preparation in addition to disseminating information about immigration policy.
To fulfill these needs we require a ute to pick up and drop off food, furniture etc. Occasionally buses have to be hired to transport the people to religious and social functions.
This work that we undertake is voluntary and totally unfunded. The only source of material and financial aid comes through donations from church organisations and individuals.
We are constantly on the lookout for help and assistance from any available source. We are motivated only because it is truly a needy cause.
